Our CASA Advocates - Sworn In!

Since CASA of Union County began in 2005, nearly 300 community volunteers have trained to be the voice of a foster child, both in the community and in court. After completion of 30 hours of training, volunteers are sworn in by a family court judge at Union County Courthouse in Elizabeth, before enjoying a lunch reception with staff and board trustees. It's during this luncheon the new advocates not only celebrate their accomplishment, but receive their supervisor and case assignments. They leave the luncheon not just well-fed but equipped to serve the child or sibling set they've been assigned, and excited to start their journey.
